Tupelo

Tupelo is Todd's dog and the Field Camp mascot.  She was born on a little farm in Port Tobacco, Maryland on April 4, 2004, and I (Todd) adopted her on Sunday, June 13th.  She is a miniature Australian Shepherd.  These dogs typically come in one of several colors including blue merle (a mix of grey, white, and black hair), red (mostly a reddish brown with other colors), tri (mostly black with spots of white or brown), or red merle (a mix of white, browns and reddish browns).  Tupelo is a red merle and she weighs about 25 pounds.  She has been very popular at camp, and a good pal to everyone, eager to give anyone a lick in the face or a bite on the ear.  She likes to herd us when we're playing capture-the-flag, and she always enjoys scavenging for dropped fallen food at camp.  I named her Tupelo either after Elvis' hometown or the honey that Van Morrison sings about ("she's as sweet as tupelo honey").  She is, quite simply, the best dog in the world.  And most Field Campers would agree.
